Makeup Lately #8

August 23, 2016

After going through another bare-minimum makeup phase, I'm finally starting to wear more on a day-to-day basis. I've stuck with the same group of products for the past few weeks, so I thought it was time for another one of my Makeup Lately posts.

I recently finally got the right shade of the Charlotte Tilbury Light Wonder Foundation, and I've fallen head over heels for it again. It gives such good coverage while still looking and feeling light on the skin. My dark circles have been a little crazy lately, so I've been reaching for the Glossier Stretch Concealer to cover them up. I like how hydrating this is so it doesn't make my undereyes crepe-y and dry.

I've been trying to add a bit of color back into my skin, as I've noticed I look a little ill without it. I'm sure you can tell based on my posts here and on Instagram lately that I'm obsessed with the Urban Decay Beached Bronzer in Sun-Kissed. It's the perfect shade of bronzer for me and just looks so natural. And since it's such a soft powder, it blends on effortlessly and is even quicker to apply than a cream. I've been alternating between two highlighters lately depending on how much time I have. If I'm a little more rushed, I go for the Glossier Haloscope in Quartz - this is my all-time favorite highlighter, and it's so easy and quick to apply. The moisturizing oils help it really glide on and blend out with ease. And if I'm wanting something a little extra and have the time, I use the Anastasia Beverly Hills Moonchild Glow Kit. Isn't it just stunning? For every day I mix a bit of Blue Ice and Pink Heart, the two shades on the left in the palette.

As always, I've been starting out my brows with a bit of the Glossier Boy Brow in Brown to beef them up a little, and then I fill them in a little more with the Milk Makeup Gel Brow in Pilsner. Neither product is too strong, so they keep my brows looking fluffy and natural instead of block-y. I've actually been wearing eyeshadow too, ever since I got the Dior Fusion Mono Eyeshadow in Meteore. I mentioned this in my Five to Try because it's such an interesting formula, and the color is a stunning copper bronze that works well for an everyday look. My favorite mascara to use lately has been the Max Factor Masterpiece Max Mascara* because it behaves like a waterproof mascara without actually being waterproof. It gives me the perfect amount of drama that I like in my lashes for everyday, and it never smudges!

On my lips I've been going for easy-to-wear formulas and colors. If I'm not just wearing lip balm, the two I've been reaching for the most are the Glossier Generation G in Cake and the Surratt Beauty Prismatique Lipstick in Lili Doree. I don't know why it took me so long to get Cake - it's the perfect peachy nude, and the sheer matte finish makes it look incredibly natural. I don't always do this, but it looks perfect over the top of the Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat in Iconic Nude. The Surratt lipstick is a new addition (I saw it in one of Jessica Clements's videos and thought it was the prettiest color), and it's pretty much NARS Orgasm blush in lipstick form. It's a beautiful peachy pink with a ton of gold shimmer. It doesn't feel gritty at all, but instead really creamy and moisturizing, and the shimmer really enhances the lips and makes them look fuller. It's not a full-on frosted effect, but just a really nice look for this warmer weather.

What makeup have you been wearing lately?

Bite Beauty Multisticks

August 20, 2016 in Makeup

I haven't been as excited for a new release as I was for the new Bite Beauty Multisticks in a long time. Ever since they started teasing the shades on their Instagram, I knew I would need to pick some up. I love a good multi-use product, and it really piqued my interest to know they could be used on the eyes as well as the lips and cheeks - you don't see many products marketed like that. I couldn't stop picturing all the cool monochrome looks I could do, so when they came out last week for Sephora VIBs, I had to snatch up a few shades.

I picked up the shades Cashew, Mascarpone, and Biscotti. Cashew is a brown-y nude color, and it's already been my most-worn out of the three. Mascarpone is a dusty neutral pink, and Biscotti is a deeper mauve. They're all very "me" colors. I'm kicking myself for not getting the Gelato shade too, though - it looks like a super pretty taupey mauve.

Top to bottom: Cashew, Mascarpone, Biscotti

Usually multi-use products clearly excel at one use and aren't so good at the other. But in the case of these, I've been impressed with how it performs on the eyes, lips, and cheeks. It took me a bit to figure out how to make it work best on the eyes though - I had some creasing issues to begin with. Thanks to a tip from my sister, if you use a primer and set it with a skin-tone eyeshadow before applying the Multistick, it lasts much longer. It's such a beautiful, blendable formula - it goes on incredibly creamy, but it sets to a powder finish. It feels super lightweight, and it doesn't feel dry despite having that powder finish. As I said, Cashew has been my most-worn so far because it's a shade I typically wear everywhere - it's been perfect for rushed mornings because I'll already have an eye, cheek, and lip product all picked out.

So far I've been applying these with my fingers, but they also work really well with brushes. I love using it with a domed eyeshadow/concealer brush on the eyes, like the Real Techniques Deluxe Crease Brush or the Zoeva Concealer Buffer, and it blends out on the cheeks really well with a stippling brush. I'm a little wary to use the stick directly on my lips if Im going to be using it on my eyes, so I like dabbing it onto my lips with my fingers for a more stained, flushed look. I'm sure using a lip brush would make a much stronger statement, though. I've been really impressed by these and will definitely be picking up another shade or two at some point - definitely the Gelato shade I mentioned above.

The Bite Beauty Multisticks are now available online at Sephora. Have you tried them yet? What's your favorite multi-use product?

Exciting Announcement!

August 18, 2016

I just wanted to put up a quick extra blogpost today because I'm so excited to announce that I'm now a Glossier rep! I got an email inviting me to be a part of their new rep program a few months ago, and I've been chomping at the bit to share this with you ever since.

What this means is if you shop through my page here, you'll get 10% off your first order, and you'll also get free shipping when you spend over $30. I do make a commission on orders placed through my page, so if that makes you uncomfortable, just go to the regular website (you'll probably have to clear your cache if you have already been on my page) and there will be no hard feelings! :)

If you go to my page, you'll be able to see a quick welcome video I made (marvel at my awkwardness) and my top 4 favorite products and little reviews explaining why I love them. You can order any of Glossier's products to get the 10% off discount though, not just from my four picks.

Let me know if you make an order, or if you need any recommendations, and thank you to all my readers for all your support - I wouldn't have gotten this opportunity without you!
