Nails of the Week: Essie Topless & Barefoot

Painting my nails is one of the beauty habits I neglect the most. I usually just can't be bothered to sit still enough to not smudge them while they're drying - in fact, I usually smudge them within seconds of finishing, while trying to close the nail polish bottle. I thought if I introduced a semi-regular feature of "Nails of the Week" on the blog, I would be more motivated to keep my nails in good shape. This week's manicure is with a new favorite, Essie's Topless & Barefoot.

I'm a huge fan of natural/neutral nail polishes - this way I can wear them for as long as they stay chip-free without worrying about them clashing with my outfit (although I wear mostly monochrome, so this wouldn't really be a problem). Since I'm so pale, nude nail polishes can sometimes make me look dead, but Topless & Barefoot is the perfect nude for me. It's just a super pretty pale pink with a hint of beige that make it a great "your nails but better" color. Like some pale nail polishes, the first coat went on quite streaky, but this was fixed by the second coat - I'm only wearing two coats in the pictures above and it's totally opaque. This is definitely one I'll be breaking out over and over, and it's even pretty enough that I'm going to keep it in mind for my wedding (years and years in the future).

Have you tried Essie's Topless & Barefoot? What's your favorite "nude" nail polish?
